All in a Day's Work
I work full-time but I still take on side voicing projects. I've been doing this since 1989 (Stop doing the math! I'm thirty-something!) My voice was 'discovered' when I started working in radio at a station called 99.5RT back when it was one of the best around. Nowadays, it's... changed. And gotten itself a new name - Hit 995...
But I digress. Sorry. I'm a woman who hasn't Vox-ed recently so forgive me.
Anyway.
I was asked by my former employer, major television network, GMA to voice a then hush-hush script for a re-launch of its subsidiary. Wow. Since working in a corporate job three years ago, I have had to turn down lots of commercials and the like, so this offer came as a surprise. Not just one but THREE projects were given to me.
So I voiced the new plug, the accompanying AVP (audio-visual presentation) and the live announcements at the press launch!
The last is where I was at last night - at the very posh Greenbelt 2 in Makati at Mezze. I was surrounded by local celebrities and the rich people I normally only read about in the society pages... (Guilty! So I peek...)
The project? The re-launch of Qtv. They've moved up their demographic target from C and D, to A and upper B.
And where exactly was I amidst the pseudo-royalty? Hidden away next to the director with the rest of the hired production hands.
Didn't get any autographs or pictures. Puh-leeze. I just read about these people. But I did get to sample the yummy appetizers that a kind waiter passed around for us the 'people not dressed for a press launch and from a different socio-economic bracket'.
All in all, it was an interesting night.

it must be surreal being surrounded by all those famous people. like you, i'd probably rather sample the food. haha.
so. yes. NU is still around. hahaha! and francis reyes and pontri are the only jocks still there after all these years.
what band's the boyfriend with...?
hindi na ba ok ang music sa NU? i rarely listen to the radio kasi when i'm in the philippines because of the prevalence of boom tarat tarat and similarly inane "music." haha.
my boyfriend's name is chi and he plays bass for typecast. i think the band is doing ok, pero it's hard for me to keep up with what kind of recognition (if any) they are getting because i live/work in the US while he lives/works there, pero ganun talaga pag long-distance e. =]
i still like QTV to cater to class C. not too posh or too less educational. just fair. spell ~ fun.
like an episode in "living it up" [i think] where you have to spend 250M pesos, oh pleease. that was just absurd and senseless.
how ironic no? i voice for things i don't actually get to watch.
